Looking for a good pre theater meal and this restaurant looks good- just visiting so I will take suggestions. Spice Market? Is Isabella%26#39;s on the Upper West Side still good? Thanks.
Has anyone eaten at Pera on Madison?
Isabella%26#39;s is fine, popular for brunch. Pera has some good reviews

Has anyone eaten at Pera on Madison?
NYwhiz,
Any suggestions? My husband and I will only be there for 2 days and have not been to NYC without kids in years and I would love to have a great meal- maybe even with a little people watching. Thanks.
I ate at Pera a few weeks ago and was very pleased.
We got the tasting menu, which provided enough food to nearly knock us out.
The grilled meats were sublime. The service was a bit slow and scattered, although very friendly. I%26#39;ll chalk this up to the fact that they had just opened.
Highly recommended.
Thanks for the input!
Pera is really something special. Wood everywhere and high ceilings makes for a unique atmosphere. For me two of the highlights were the freshly baked bread and the ground lamb which was just out of this world. Go there and enjoy the place.
I agree that Pera sounds worth a try. For people watching, just a heads up that if you%26#39;re eating pre theater, not ideal people watching time anywhere. For good people watching, go after theater (or no theater and dine instead).
Menupages.com has a features tab now that includes ';people watching';
