Nearest subway to Eastgate Tower?

Hello, i%26#39;ve been looking on the net at various accomodation in NYC for my trip next Saturday and i really like the look and price of the above accomodation. Can anyone tell me what the nearest subway station would be? And if it is doable to walk to the hotel from there with suitcases?! Thanks.

Nearest subway to Eastgate Tower?

It%26#39;s closest to Grand Central Station which has several subway lines, but not the one that%26#39;s direct from JFK (the E train). You%26#39;d have to take the E train to 53 st %26amp; Lexington and either a taxi the rest of the way, switch to the #6 downtown to Grand Central and then walk OR, you could take the Express bus from the airport to the Grand Central stop and walk from there. That%26#39;s easiest if you%26#39;re 1 or 2. No switching trains or worrying about stairs and luggage.

Thanks, NYWhiz. I%26#39;m actually flying into Newark airport, so i believe would then have to catch the train from the airport station to Penn Station, and then i guess link to Grand Central from there?

If you%26#39;re set on using the train, yes train to Penn Station in MANHATTAN (there%26#39;s a Penn station in Newark NJ and it%26#39;s confusing for people). YOu may have to pass thru there, but you don%26#39;t want to go there. ;) Then you%26#39;d need to change TWICE. Once from Penn station uptown one stop to Port Authority and again at PA to Grand Central. Here%26#39;s the subway map

I%26#39;d still use the Express Airport Bus to Grand Central. It may take longer and cost a few dollars more ($14/person one way or $23/person roundtrip. How many are you?

Thanks for the link. There is two of us (maybe three if one of my other friends gets her act together and books a flight! *lol*)

Might take the bus actually, it will save the hassle of changing trains three times!

The roundtrip fare of $22/person is a good deal. Here%26#39;s the page that tells exactly where the bus stops and picks up.

41 st b/w Park %26amp; Lexington is 2 blocks north and 2 blocks west of the hotel. It%26#39;s not a far walk at all assuming your bags are all on wheels.
