Novotel vs. Edison

HELP!!!

We have reservations at Novotel for March. We are celebrating our anniversary. Someone told me I should have booked with Edison. Any reason why Edison would be better (except for location).

There%26#39;s an Irish saying, ';Faraway cows have long horns';. It%26#39;s a reference to the horns on their head as opposed to evidence of prowess of a different kind. Basically, the saying is a metaphor for the human belief that ';there%26#39;s always something better around the next corner';.

Novotel gets great reviews on this site. Just because ';someone'; told you the Edison was better, I would not believe this in the absence of compelling evidence. But, for your own peace of mind, why not check out the reviews of both the Edison and the Novotel on this site ? That%26#39;s what it%26#39;s there for. Instead of basing your judgments solely on the views of ';someone';.

Oh and incidentally, Novotel ranks 84th of the hotels on Tripadvisor. The Edison is 171th. Quite a differential.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Novotel and it is a solid 3* hotel, have not stayed at the Edison but it is a no frills, decent 2* hotel.

I stayed at the Edison in October 2005 and was very disappointed. The room was very dirty and dark. The staff was very unfriendly. The only good thing was the location.

I stayed at the Novotel and was satisfied with the hotel. Decent price, good service, friendly staff and great location.

We are planning on staying at the Edison this coming weekend on the advice of very good friends who stay there frequently while in NYC. We got a very good price directly from the hotel staff and are eager to see if it matches some of the reviews on Tripadvisor. I will let everyone know what I think when I return. We hope the weather is decent - plan on doing lots of walking!! Any advice for a good ';happy hour'; ar on Sunday night??

We stayed at the Eddison it was awful. i would never recomend it. It was very small and my clothes smealt like cigarette%26#39;s for days after. stay at the novotel

Have only stayed at the Edison and would not recommend it for anything other than location. The room was very small and cramped and I could not imagine ';celebrating'; anything in it!!!

The Novotel is a modern skyscraper with some nice views. The Edison is an older building and not nearly as nice. B/w the 2, I would certainly pick the Novotel. Is it the best place for an anniversary celebration? Depends on your budget and the price you got at the Novotel. If it%26#39;s cancellable, you have time to look for better deals. There%26#39;s a new offer on travelzoo.com today for the Muse hotel for $199/night. The room would be nicer, but not necessarily the view.
