Stupid Question- JFK or LGA

If staying in Midtown Manhattan, which is the closest airport? What is the difference in time?

Thank you all!

Stupid Question- JFK or LGA

LGA is closer. Depending on time of day, it can take as little as 20-30 mins to get to/from midtown from LGA but it generally takes 40+ mins.

To/from JFK is closer to an hour. It%26#39;s not so much time but transportation. Despite JFK being further, there%26#39;s fast train links to Manhattan if you don%26#39;t have much luggage.

In the end, pick the airport that%26#39;s got the best flights/prices. If it really doesn%26#39;t matter, I prefer LGA as it%26#39;s smaller, but others who post here think it%26#39;s more apt to have delays.

Thank you nywhiz, you have been extremely helpful and I cant thank you enough (I have read some of your other posts also). We actaully booked through LGA...one more question.

We are staying at the Hilton in Times Sqaure. What is the cheapest/easiest way to get there from the airport. I understand a taxi would be quite pricey.

A taxi will only be about $30, maybe $35. You could take the bus (M60) get off at Astoria Blvd and then take the N or W train to Times Square, but that involves stairs and takes awhile. There is another bus that gets you to the 7 train that also goes to Times Square, but I am not that familiar with that bus.
