$100.....

If you only had $100 to entertain family of 4 in NY for the day,how would you do it and feel you had the best the big city has to offer??

$100.....

You could ride the Staten Island ferry, That%26#39;s free. From there you could take in the view of the Statue Of Liberty. You could take the subway to Brooklyn then walk over the Brookly Bridge.

There%26#39;s Central Park, Free!

you could go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While the donations are suggested and you could give as much as you feel you can.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started.

$100.....

Give each one $25, and meet up later on for some sightseeing.

On a nice day, walking can be the cheapest and most reqarding activity in Manhattan. You can discover so many interesting neighborhoods and people along the way. I always love walking up Broadway and seeing the different areas as you travel - Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo, et al...

Definitely start out at the Metropolitan Museum of At-give them $10 or $20 for the family. Then grab some pizza, walk though Central Park and take the subway downtown to Ground Zero, the Staten Island Ferry and then subway to Chinatown for dinner.I%26#39;d check Time Out New York and New York Magazine to see if there were any free concerts or theatre(as there is all summer) and enjoy that.

It would depend on who the family was (ages, m/f, interests), day of the week and time of year.

There%26#39;s LOTS of free stuff to do. Here%26#39;s just some of it

I think some of the best free things include

a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge

a ride on the Staten Island ferry

a day (or half day) with a Big Apple Greeter

I vote for disfan%26#39;s itinerary!
