self catering apartments?

My husband and I would love to stay in an apartment / loft for 1 week in July. We would like somewhere cool, clean and not too expensive ($1250 tops) with cooking facilities / own bathroom perhaps in soho or lower east side. It would be great to be near some trendy hangouts / bars / art galleries. We have looked at a few hotels but we would prefer the independance of having our own place. Got any suggestions or ideas?

thanks.

Hi Lisa

I%26#39;ve booked into the Best Western Hospitality House in November, It%26#39;s close to the Rockerfeller centre etc. one and two bedroom apartments with breakfast provided. Read the reviews on this site for more info. Located in midtown so don%26#39;t know if it would suit. Let me know please

I stayed at the BW Hospitality House in Sept. Good value. Noisy part of town so bring earplugs but overall it is a nice apartment for the $$ in a great location.

We have a late filght on our departure date - was there anywhere to store bags after checkout?

I am not sure about that but normally the front desk is very accomodating. There is a room I think they use for lounging/bathroom breaks etc so you could ask them to hold the luggage for you.

Small lobby and the hotel is kind of hidden away but a pretty nice place.

$1250/week is a budget price. To find something downtown as you describe, you%26#39;d have to invest some time researching since there are not really apt./hotels downtown as you describe. Here%26#39;s one that might interest you
