Dinner Near MSG

Hi All,

My husband and I will be staying in NYC to see a concert at MSG. Can anyone recommend a semi-casual spot that%26#39;s not overly expensive? A place we can wear jeans that%26#39;s not over $20 per entree would be great. Any type of fare is good.

Thanks!!!

Tir Na Nog is an Irish pub in the same building. Here%26#39;s a thread with some other ideas. Look them all up on menupages.com

If this is in Jan., just noticed there%26#39;s a special food and wine promotion in the area. You can have dinner and wine for $34 at several different restaurants. That might be more than you planned anyway, but that I should mention it. Here%26#39;s the website with the link

There%26#39;s another promotion going on during Jan/Feb called Paint the Town Red. Many restaurants are offering discounts. Here%26#39;s a link

32nd just west of 5th is a place called Mandoo Bar. Excellent Korean dumplings, noodle and other dishes. Reasonably priced. The Korean BBQ places are also fun, but the entrees are probably $16-20 ish and its more fun to BBQ if you have more than 1 dish. They bring you lots of little side dishes to try, so you%26#39;ll get your money%26#39;s worth.

Cho Dang Gol on 35th (5th-6th) is another exceptional Korean. Perhaps for the more adventurous. They specialize in homemade tofu.

all of the above are very casual

Now that I think of it, with all the Korean food in Ft Lee, this might not be special to you....

Every time I go to New York, I go to MSG to the hockey, and we always have something to eat before hand at Cafe 31, which is just on 31st (there%26#39;s a surprise!), over the road from the Garden, literally 2 mins walk from the entrance on 7th ave.

Cafe 31 was refurbished about 2 years ago, and it%26#39;s nicely set out, clean and modern, without being too sparkly (if that makes sense!). It has a sort of %26#39;sports bar%26#39; area around the bar, but the rest is set out for food. The food is typical standard American fair, and enough choice and good food. Reasonable enough price for the area. I always find the service and the staff there good and friendly!

Hey Everybody,

Thanks for all the great suggestions! You have helped us avoid that pre-show, where are we going to eat arguement!
