single friend advise

hi

as some of you know I am getting married in central park next month (5wks today). my partner was upset last year to find out that his best mate couldn%26#39;t come out with us BUT just before christmas he told me he is coming but Lee doesn%26#39;t know anything about it!

Phil is flying out the day before us and will be waiting in the hotel bar when we arrive. it is his first time to NYC and will be travelling alone so he slightly concerned about what to do / go. any suggestions?

also, are there many ATM machines in NYC as he doesn%26#39;t want to be carrying cash around with him.

what%26#39;s the weather like there now?

xx

Where%26#39;s the hotel and how long of the day will he be in town before you arrive? There are many ATM%26#39;s, I wouldn%26#39;t worry about that.

Weather is freezing right now, prepare for the worst and you might be pleasantly surprised! But dress warm.

Without knowing what he%26#39;d like to do, it%26#39;s impossible. Where will he be? You might check whether there%26#39;s a sporting event at Madison Square Gardent that he could go to. thegarden.com

OR, the Red Lion in Greenwich Village is an Expat kind of pub.

we are staying at the Comfort Inn Manhattan. he%26#39;s not vrey sporty but enjoys meeting people, cars %26amp; beer. he doesn%26#39;t mind going to the cinema either - is there one nearby?

The closest movie theater is the AMC Loewe%26#39;s at 34 st %26amp; 8th ave. but going to the movies on first arriving in NYC seems....not right. Why doesn%26#39;t he go over the Empire State building which is so close to your hotel and have a look? Or have a walk around Times Square. Or, depending on what time he arrives, maybe he could take one of the city lights bus tours. Or, why not contact Big Apple Greeters and see if you can arrange for a Greeter for him on the day he%26#39;s alone?

Or why doesn%26#39;t he simply use his imagination ? I find that when I use my imagination, things actually happen. Pleasant, positive things. Serendipity. Or do you think he would be a bit insulted if you made this suggestion to him ?
