NY Hotels

Hi,

Going to NY in November for 4 nights. Been looking at a few hotels. I want something reasonable (rather spend money shopping than on somewhere i%26#39;ll just be sleeping!). I%26#39;ve read a lot of reviews and possibly have it down to two hotels. The Grand Union and The Wolcott. Has anybody been to either? Also should I book now or wait until nearer November?

Thanks

Both of these are reasonably well regarded budget hotels not far from each other. If you can book a room in one or the other that%26#39;s cancellable and doesn%26#39;t require prepayment (that should be the case on quikbook.com) I%26#39;d do that if you%26#39;ve read the reviews here and had a look at the ';candid travelers photos'; for both and think they%26#39;re ok.

Depending on the price, you may be able to do much better closer to the time. What dates are you coming and what%26#39;s your budget? Are there just 2 of you? Would you consider bidding on Priceline (closer to the trip)?

Thanks for your reply.

I have never heard of priceline (went onto their website just now to check it out, I think i%26#39;d rather know where i%26#39;m staying exactly before giving my credit card details!)

Yes there is the just the two of us going. Going on Friday 16th November for 4 nights, we don%26#39;t want to pay more than 鈧?00 for the hotel, the two i%26#39;ve mentioned aboved work out at 鈧?00 for the two of us for four nights, room only. Need to give a 10% deposit up front when booking.
